We finally got news! It was a wild Wednesday night in the NHL with two big stories breaking within minutes of each other. First, Frank broke the news that the Vancouver Canucks and Elias Pettersson are closing in on a fresh long-term extension that will keep the Swedish star in Vancouver through the bulk of his career. Frank talked about the expected value of the deal and why getting this done now is so significant for both the Canucks and Pettersson. We also got another move involving one of Frank’s top trade targets as the Calgary Flames moved veteran defenseman Chris Tanev to the Dallas Stars for a handful of draft picks and a prospect.
