Description
Lauren Cox, the first ever WNBA player living with Type 1 diabetes, did not let a T1D diagnosis at an early age keep her from reaching personal and professional goals. In this episode we discuss her diabetes management tools on the road, and on the court. BIO:  Lauren Cox was the first ever WNBA player living with type 1 diabetes. At the age of seven she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, so she has spent nearly all her days as an athlete managing both her diabetes and talent on the basketball court. Playing both on the collegiate level at Baylor (where she won a National Championship) and then in the WNBA for the Indiana Fever and the LA Sparks, Lauren has been a role model for many, including her sister Whitney who was diagnosed with diabetes after Lauren. She continues to be a strong advocate and inspiration for the diabetes community and is currently playing for the Valencia Basket Club in Spain.  LINKS: * Instagram
