Perfect blend of substance and chaos
A lot of film / pop culture podcasts that feature analysis blended with humor tend to be pretty soft and shallow on the “analysis” part. The reason I stick around for DTAW is because there is real thought, criticism, and open-mindedness behind what is genuinely hysterical and sometimes chaotic commentary. I love how the diversions often work and don’t feel like tiresome side stories because the people involved are sharp. I appreciate how most everyone on the podcast is willing to have their minds changed and how accepting guests and the host are about different ethnicities, abilities, races, body sizes, sexualities, genders - all of that allows for fresh takes.
