“I started listening to Dirt in Your Skirt when I was put on bed rest for a hip injury. I listen to 4-5 podcasts a day. Not all podcasts are relevant to what I want to listen to but I also know that what I’m not interested in may still interest someone else - so I have the ability to skip or still just listen to it as sometimes listening to something you aren’t as interested in can still teach you a lot. I am a runner and OCR athlete so being on bed rest is painful mentally as well as physically. It’s been 6 weeks of bed rest and I’m looking at many more months here while I wait for MRI and then whatever it is the surgeon decides we need to do to. I’ve learned a lot about myself and also learned that there is a mental aspect to being an athlete that I used to neglect. I’m learning how to develop that in me now so that I keep up the mental training when I’m back at it.
The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because for some reason sometimes the host is so much louder than the guest. It causes for some inconsistency in volume and when you are lying down with headphones, it can be pretty painful to have sudden loudness. The microphone quality isn’t the best. I’m only at January 2016 as I started at the latest episode in the past and moving forward so maybe this improves.
Thank you so much Margaret for pulling me up out of a dark time.”
