“I was enjoying this podcast until I got to a story about a blind lady at a college for blind people who claimed a predator got into the building and tried to break in her room. When he couldn’t get in her room, he managed to get in an autistic girl’s room and raped her. She had survivor’s guilt because all the police and her therapist assured her that the girl wouldn’t be able to remember it or be less traumatized because she was autistic. Also couldn’t testify because she was autistic. My kid is autistic, I know a lot of autistic people, and to assume they wouldn’t be just as traumatized by rape as anyone else is disgusting. Also, many autistic people are perfectly capable of advocating for themselves. Please don’t use ableist crap like this in the future.”
