The Dublin and Monaghan bombings of May 17th 1974, were one of the most tragic events of the Troubles. Three no-warning car bombs exploded in Dublin City Centre at 5.30pm, and another no-warning bomb exploded in Monaghan Town at approximately 7pm. 34 people were killed.
