Fear and Mistrust’ Oct 2023
I am a few years younger then Jean, but I went to same apartment club disco, she talked about….. The Ireland she is wishing for, was class conscious, anti-feminist and oppressive, the church, and the state there was no clear lines of definition, we are better today. I have a feeling Jean thought in her life there would be a happy ending, but in the reality from the cradle to the grave life is difficult, but it’s important not to point a finger and blame other people because for every finger you point at other people refugees, gays etc . Remember there are 3 fingers coming back at yourself. What have you done to make your life better? During Covid I worked front line, it took people to their graves, Jean you are living your life with false pride and you will be remembered for living it on the wrong side of history…..

A great story, beautifully told. A very exciting journey, retracing the steps of these audacious punters in their quest to beat the bookies!
