Did Two Ever Exist?', published in On Sociality & Idiocy: www.doggerland.infoMadeleine describes her experiences of being in 3's, whether romantically, artistically, living together, or a confluence of all three. We discuss the multiple ways being in 3 challenges the couple-form, but where also the limits of access to recognition may emerge. While the essay focuses on the moments of falling apart, we also talk with Madeleine about the possibilities of reframing "failure" in relationships, and the widening potential of the ever-forgiving, loving-gaze beyond your partner, to society as a whole, enabled by the third.
