Transformed my opinion on the whole matter
I live outside a big city, and I never really felt in touch with “country” culture. I had my preconceptions about it, but this documentary changed a lot of them. It showed me how universal many stereotypes of country folk are, and how many of them are manufactured by others. And plus, dolly seems like a nice person and I’ve discovered that I like her music. I think the creators of this podcast glorify her centrism a bit too much, since centrism is objectively a very common stance, and imo an idiosyncratic one.

On the heels of Ken Burn’s Country Music series, where Dolly got coverage, this adds another level of information about this remarkable woman. It’s not hard to love Dolly. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
