“I worked at the ABC years ago, and recall other IT staff there telling me they felt Marc Fennell was pretty much a self-promoting know-nothing, when it came to technology matters. Too busy being a “tech personality” specialising in tech news & views, yet lacking any real substantive knowledge about it himself.
I never met him personally. But having worked in tech roles for 25yrs, and on the evidence of this podcast, my colleagues were right. Fennell pretty much just comes across as as a goofy observer, making vague assertions about things he’s seen and read, while others do the heavy lifting.
Replace him with someone more invested and knowledgable about technology, media, futurism, or some related industry… (beyond reading Mashable articles)… and this podcast would be more valuable. Currently, it relies on the quality of the co-hosts.”
