Diet culture focused - less performance based
Lots if focused on self-reported data, short-term diets studies (6 mo and less), no control group studies, obesity focused and weight loss vs athletes, no discussion on data collection (food records, 24h recalls, mobile apps, etc) only about prescribed diets (not actual intake of participants), does not discuss muscle mass, quality and physical activity on insulin resistance (only fat focused, some are hyperglycemic because loss of muscle and sarcopenia, frailty…), diminishes CHO foods (no talk on fiber rich foods and effects microbiota) not much discussion on adherence of diets and weight regain after restriction and effects on psychological measure of restriction (BED, anxiety, etc) Also few female dietitians…
