 In this special edition of the View, Kim A. Eagle, MD, MACC, talks with Philippe Gabriel Steg, MD, FACC, and Payal Kohli, MD, FACC, about four of the major trials that were presented on Day 2 of the ESC Congress in Amsterdam on Saturday, Aug. 26. The trials include ECLS-SHOCK (0:44) that investigates extracorporeal life support in patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock, CLEAR-Outcomes (03:34), looking at bempedoic acid and cardiovascular outcomes in statin-intolerant patients, STOPDAPT 3 (06:33) exploring the benefit of the prasugrel monotherapy without aspirin as compared with the 1-month dual therapy with aspirin and prasugrel in terms of reducing bleeding events after PCI using cobalt-chromium everolimus-eluting stents in patients with high bleeding risk or acute coronary syndrome patients, and FIRE (09:47) studying functional vs. culprit-only revascularization in elderly patients with myocardial infarction and multivessel disease.
