““Diabetes” is a difficult disease to understand especially when generalizing. There are distinct differences in the 2 types of diabetes and their treatment. For example Virta Health (at least last time I applied to their program) only accepts Type2 diabetics into their program. One of the reasons i speculate is because the diet they are using to reverse Type2 diabetes produces ketone bodies and ketones in a Type 1 diabetic is a tricky dynamic. The second reason I presume is Type1 diabetics only make up approximately 10% or so of the population. Type1’s are not the epidemic it is Type2. The two types of diabetes are not the same and should never be discussed under the all encompassing term “diabetes”. As evidence by this poor, confusing attempt at being informed and informing. As Amy interviews the Doctor from the ADA. He switches back and fourth between the two disease as if they are one in the same making no differentiation between the two. Which i submit is the reason why Emily grows more confused. It’s super frustrating listening to their conversation because he’s exploiting her ignorance on the topic intentionally. She comes from a good place and I admire her persistence and finding the truth. ADA is a snake in the grass.”
