We are never ever getting back together, like ever.  Independence movements around the world are casting off old colonial ties.  Using various methods of civil disobedience, freedom fighters are inspiring their nations to rise up and take control of their own countries. 

The Cold War heats up as proxy wars pop up around the globe.  The Soviet Union will be no more after events outside and inside the Soviet Union lead to its collapse.
