Misinformation Campaign
The Heartland Institute touts itself as a seemingly-legitimate source of skepticism for climate science. However, funded significantly by ExxonMobil and Koch Industries, there is nothing legitimate about the intentionally misleading and deeply harmful information it puts forward. In the 1990s this organization engaged in a similar effort in conjunction with the tobacco industry, promoting faulty science and counter-campaigning against the growing body of scientific evidence of smoking’s deadly effects. This podcast is simply a conduit for unfounded and base information, with a singularly toxic message irrespective of listener background or political affiliation. No one wins in the end with climate change denial.
