“In a time where the amount of consumed media that is produced feels like an insurmountable mountain of stuff and ideas, I find myself longing for when recordings needed an actual tangible medium to be experienced. The days when listening to music meant actually putting the cassette in your Walkman and hitting play, or when listening to voicemails on your phone meant actually coming home. What have we forgotten about our not-so-distant collective past? What is out there in all this stuff we’ve made? Where is all that stuff going? Who is trying to save it? How many people have a whole closet full of home movies like I do? I listened to the pilot after being sent over from Stuff You Should Know, and being a romantic and lover of all things odd, curious, elusive, and uniquely human, I feel this is going to be a really good one. I also suddenly feel like digitally archiving everything I have before it disappears forever. The production value is high as well, so if you’re an audiophile and are very picky with your sounds, you will like this one for sure. I’m so excited to hear the rest!!! Thank you!!!”
