Steinkraus
I first picked up William Steinkraus's book Riding & Jumping in the late 70's. As a young trainer rider little did I know the impact Mr. Steinkraus's book would have on my practical application from the first few chapters. His focus on gymnastics and the importance it plays in the success to both horse and rider, his ability to convey so clearly his process was amazing. I still have that book and also have reflections. I often read a few chapters throughout my training years, always coming away with knowledge providing either a solution or the guts to take a horse where I had not thought to go. From the first reading to this day it is THE BOOK that makes it abundantly clear great athletes must have a solid base. Solid Gymnastics, equals both physical and mental health. It was a pleasure to listen to the podcast with William Steinkraus. His love of family and horses resonated. His moral compass sounds as solid as his training technique. Bless his mother, she raised a good man.

I love the idea behind this show. What a treasure to get incite and information from legends that otherwise would take years (and most likely much expense) to collect over a lifetime! Chris Stafford is such a profesional and tactful host, I hope this podcast continues!
