“Crossway cancelled this excellent podcast abruptly and without notice on January 1, 2024, leaving listeners with no opportunity to download and save any missing episodes for future use.
This David Cochran Heath reading of the ESV was, in my opinion, the best reading of the ESV available. I have relied on it for several years. Having it available in daily one year readings in podcast format was a great convenience for listening on mobile devices.
While I appreciate some of the new podcasts and readers Crossway has posted for 2024, I do not understand or appreciate the fact that they have discontinued this outstanding “Straight Through the Bible in a Year” podcast. In so doing, they have not only abandoned David Cochran Heath’s reading, but also removed the only podcast they offered the “Straight Through the Bible” order. Many people prefer to read the Bible in the order the books are traditionally published.
Listeners respond differently to different voices and reading styles and are often able to absorb a reading much better from one reader than another. David Cochran Heath’s readings have spoken directly to many listeners. I hope Crossway will make this podcast available again.”
