The 30-pack Sensex advanced 104 points to end the day at 59,793. Its broader peer, Nifty50, ended at 17,833, up 35 points. This was the first time since January 2022 that the NSE barometer closed the week above 17,800 level. For the week, Nifty added 1.68 per cent while Sensex 1.66 per cent.

In the Sensex kitty of stocks, Tech Mahindra was the biggest gainer, rising 3 per cent to Rs 1,090.35. Axis Bank was up 3.22 per cent, ICICI Bank increased 2.57 per cent and M&M surged 2.46 per cent. SBI, UltraTech Cement, Bajaj Finserv and Bharti Airtel were also among other top gainers.

The market capitalisation of all listed companies on BSE jumped Rs 5.65 lakh crore to Rs 280.21 lakh crore from Rs 274.56 lakh crore on Monday as the 30-share Sensex advanced 1,564.45 points --- the second biggest point-wise gain of this year-- to end at 59,537.09. Its broader peer, Nifty50, ended the session comfortably above the 17,750 mark. Nifty has gained 3.4 per cent this month, rising 2.6% today itself.
