“this podcast is a gift to us all. it’s comforting to hear people’s routines and also some deeper and really thoughtful conversations occur. it’s making me feel like we’re all just doing our best to take care of ourselves and some times that is harder than others, but we’re all working on getting through the day.
this is the first review i have ever written for any podcast ever, even ones that i have listened to since the dawn of the concept, because i have to say it! i am 26 years old and i love to wear slippers! i listened to the episode with jo’s mom today, and i feel i am here to say that some young people are wearing slippers. if you live anywhere the heat isn’t so great in the winter they make your life so much better. i don’t wear my shoes in the house so they’re a real must have when i’m walking around in any season that’s not summer. my circulation is terrible so my feet are like ice cubes if i don’t, even if i’m wearing socks. i have yellow felt ones which i would even say look cool and they feel even more special because i don’t wear them out.
in the summer i switch to slides (the squishy rubbery type you can get at most dollar stores) because though we try to keep the floor clean where i live, my feet still get a little dirty if i’m just walking around barefoot all the time.
i would say a solid 30-50% of people i know who are my age also wear slippers, but it does depends on the climate they are in / their access to strong heating.”
