Occasionally, to make history, you must make some wildly controversial choices.   The notorious attorney, Ira Lee “Ike” Sorkin joins Liz on the podcast today. Ike’s best known for representing Bernard “Bernie” Madoff, the American businessman who pleaded guilty in 2009 to perpetrating the largest investor fraud ever committed by a single person.    Ike recalls the trial and explains to listeners how he justifies the many questionable people he has defended. He also reveals that while he does not condone criminal conduct, in a democracy, even alleged criminals are entitled to representation.
