“This is great information! With my first child I declined a cervix check at 39 weeks and was pressured into it by my care provider. I also think she did some sort of a membrane sweep despite the fact I said I did not want one (it was painful and I bled after the appointment). During my pregnancy and actual labour, cervix dilation told us absolutely nothing about when my labour would start or how my labour was progressing. I’m pregnant with my second, with midwives this time and will be declining all checks until I’m in active labour.”
