Generally insightful and interesting
I was a little disappointed by episode 51 where the professor talked about the historicity of genesis and made links to marriage in his discussion of a verse. There is no link in the verse to ‘marriage’ in that text, certainly marriage as you know it in America in 2022. I am a doctoral student on the other side of the world and you may be I interested to know I did my masters in Queer Theology. I too am a committed Christian and enjoy going back to the original Hebrew and Greek, noting many far more inclusive meanings are available then commonly assigned. What you do in aligning the word (from the word root used in episode 51) solely to marriage, is pass a judgement on other ‘allied’ relationships that aren’t called a marriage. You are removing them from scriptural association - effectively making them a second class relationship. That may be your value and truth, but don’t make it G-D’s value and truth.

Interesting insights from knowledgeable guests. I wish the host would let them finish their thoughts before butting in, but it’s still worth a listen.
