20 years for this?
Friends for 20 years, Cousin Sal Iacono and Dave Dameshek finally team up for their last gig in sports media. If you’ve listened to other sports podcasts at the top of the charts and thought “Oh, this is too young and cool for me” then this is the show for you. Attempting to comment on today’s top sports stories, the guys reference the “We are Family” Pirates, Jesse Orosco, Earl Weaver, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bono, Paul Brown, Wes Unseld, Doc Gooden, Steve Garvey, Dick Butkus, Huey Lewis, Rollie Fingers, Bobby Bonilla, Don Rickles and Willie Aames. The first guest was of course Jimmy Kimmel, the person responsible for both of the hosts being in the business at all. Not surprising, considering it took them 59 seconds into the first episode to mention “The Man Show.” Kimmel was a -250 favorite to be the first guest, just ahead of Bill Simmons (-150), Adam Carolla (even) and Jeff Ross (+200). While other podcasts may be trendsetting, this one is more trend-ending, namely having the producer be an on-air participant. An act that Howard Stern made famous by including producer Gary “Baba Booey” Dell’Abate in his bits, Extra Points has almost surely ended with the attempted use of Jim Cunningham. Cunningham could neither identify the very town he lives in, nor any type of doughnut he has put in his mouth. “I don’t bake or cook or anything,” Cunningham said. Five stars.

I love Dave Dameshek, he is my favorite sports personality to listen to. When the DDFP when away I was devastated and was really happy when I heard this podcast was out. It’s hard to listen to because Charlotte just isn’t good. Love Dave and Cousin Sal, but Charlotte needs to go.
