Description
Upending stereotypes of masculinity and identity in her work by drawing on her West-Indian heritage, Bianca’s collections always come with a twist. In this episode, she shares how Kelis influenced her personal style, and having Beyoncé’s 'Alien Superstar' on constant repeat. Nominated as Menswear Designer of the Year by the British Fashion Awards in 2023, Bianca grew up in London. She completed her BA in Fashion Design at Kingston University, then specialised in menswear during her MA at the Royal College of Art. Her research is heavily based on self-documentation and in June 2017 she curated an exhibition entitled ‘Personal Politics’, and then in 2019, she curated ‘Nearness’ at Market Row in Brixton, held to coincide with Black History Month.
