Episode Five - Humbug or Ho Ho Ho? Contagious founder Paul Kemp-Robertson talks dads and Christmas ads
Listen now
Description
Paul Kemp-Robertson is a lovely fella. A few years back I had the fantastic opportunity of working for Contagious, the company Paul founded after working at ad agency Leo Burnett. Advising companies on how to harness ideas and tech in order to act better, Contagious was an inspiring place to be, full of bright people and good intention. As Christmas approached, ads assailed from all sides and I grew a little weary of the hype, who better to talk to I thought, than Paul? And so it proved. Over a pint in London's Leather Lane he provided insight into fatherhood and how to navigate the toyshop aisles, plus a bit of Middlesbrough FC and tomato-throwing. So please enjoy the chat, talking with a man who says 90% of advertising irritates him and who tears up over Werther's ads featuring gold-hearted dads. As I said, lovely fella. Check out Paul's outstanding company at www.contagious.com. Music featured as follows: Kenny G - We Wish You a Merry Christmas / The Undertones - Teenage Kicks / Manic Street Preachers - If You Tolerate This... / The Clash - Bank Robber / Buzzocks - Ever Fallen in Love? / Paul Weller - You do Something to Me / New Order - Ceremony
