“Enjoyable discussions about a wide range of books, movies, and other media. Be aware, though, about the casual tossing around of dates and historical events. They’re wrong more often than they’re right. A good example is saying that the James Bond books are 50 years old (closer to 65-70) or that Jane Austen wrote 100 years before Charlotte Brontë (nope).
And if you can’t tolerate discussion of historical times laced with modern sensibilities, you may find the snarky condescension about previous centuries off-putting. That said, there’s a place for in-depth discussion by knowledgeable professionals. Recommended with some reservations.”
