“Hi Friends,
My name is Drew, a male / man. I listen to this show to gain different perspectives, learn about experiences, and hear others’ values. It helps me see discrimination in many more ways I was previously ignorant to, to help remove it, and work for equity I know is not present.
In the 12/20/2022 episode with the guidance counselor from my home State Wisconsin, I heard about her at a rally, responses to it, and her position on transgender. I never heard her give her perspective or share her values, feelings, & knowledge of that position. I believe I am a student of everyone whether I end up totally or partially agreeing or disagreeing. I am here to hear diverse perspectives to help develop mine. I heard a position statement, but not an explanation of perspective and why. I gained nothing in this episode, where normally I feel I learn a lot.
I may end up disagreeing with this counselor, but regardless, I respect her as a person and her expression of feelings. I just want to know what knowledge, values, feelings, & experiences go into why she has the position she does.
