One of the most important podcasts, EVER
This love letter to America’s most beautiful places is superb. Lillian Cunningham takes you directly into the parks and paints the loveliest of lovely pictures of each. She tells native stories of each park, and how native people historically cared for the land and can help protect it again. She tells the stories of how the US, keen on development for development’s sake, made critical mistakes (that they’re now scrambling to undo) which are killing the parks. But Cunningham never leaves the listener feeling hopeless. She gives us hope for saving these wondrous places. Spoiler Alert: the power lies with indigenous people!

Thoughtful and inspiring! So nice to “visit” these parks in some small way this summer.

Some people probably love Lillian’s style but I mostly find it annoying. Presidential was great because it was just narrative history. This one is not nearly as enjoyable. The mix of interview and narrative with the terrible music/choppy production style just makes for a weird listening experience.
