101 - 'Babylon 5' Movies
Listen now
Description
When TNT picked up Babylon 5 for its fifth and final season, the deal also included four TV movies. This gave show creator J. Michael Straczynski the opportunity to tell B5 stories outside the five-year arc. As a result, each movie produced takes place in a different timeframe from the other, spanning from the desperate days of the Earth-Minbari War to the tenth anniversary of the Interstellar Alliance. In this episode of Filibuster, hosts Charlynn Schmiedt and Phillip Gilfus discuss the movies that were produced as a part of the TNT deal, as well as “Legend of the Rangers,” a failed spinoff pilot, and “The Lost Tales,” a straight to DVD release.   Were the movies worthwhile additions to the Babylon 5 universe? Listen to what Phillip and Char thought and then let us know what you think in the comments.   Babylon 5 Season 6 comic: https://jameson9101322.deviantart.com/gallery/58603023/Babylon-6-Comic
