The film that means the most to me…
The film that means the most to me is Charlotte Wells’ Aftersun. I saw it with no knowledge of what it was about at a film festival. It lulled me into its lapping waves of nostalgia, memory, and grief. Having unexpectedly lost my dad when I was twenty-one, the exploration of a dad and daughter dynamic, and the desire to search for an understanding of the past, sent me into the deepest sobs I’ve had in a theatre. The film captures an emotion that I haven’t easily been able to share with people in my life. I am eternally grateful it exists. I feel seen by it. Ps. I love this show so much.

Absolutely loving this podcast! Really enjoy the chats and hearing about everyone’s favourite films. ET is probably my most favourite film of all time, it was one of the first films I saw at the cinema and I always remember that my tooth fell out whilst I was watching it.
