My only friend
A tortured, abused and outcast poor child in a rich school full of athletic kids much bigger and stronger than me, each day was a matter of just survival. Getting home to see Mr.Rogers on WHYY TV was always the best part of the day. I could stop, and forget about everything else, and for 30 minutes, no longer felt like I was the constant victim of a fox hunt. I only recently found out my sister also found solace in this show. Hearing episode 3 “Fat Freddy” was a watershed moment, and I cried a lot; realizing that Fred had actually lived part of my life as well. Many times, I’ve tried to start a YouTube version/homage of this show: but never been able to get through it due to many calamities in my life. I think that if there is anything that would make the world a better place now, it would be Mr.Rogers. How many millions MORE children are out there like me? Feeling like they are constantly in a fox hunt, and the fox? To them, it is all a video game, at blinding speed, Mr. Roger’s “slow down” and simple quiet talking makes all the difference in the world. There was a song “America needs you Harry Truman”. I believe it’s “America needs you Mr.Rogers.” G-d bless you for this podcast Jonathan F

Looking forward to hearing the whole series! Fred Rogers - Mister Rogers - taught us all about listening, communicating, seeing — and this little intro sounds wonderful!

I’m inspired by Mr Rogers’ love for others and slow pace. However, the biased, bitter political reference in the first episode was unnecessary and factually questionable.
