Joe Oliveira is the founder and owner of Oliveira Baseball Consulting. His company focuses around helping amateur baseball players reach their potential, market their abilities’, and overall help them find and choose the college that best fits their future baseball careers. Joe played collegiately at the University of Pacific, a NCAA Division I school in Stockton, California. He was then drafted in the 15th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft and played within the Baltimore Orioles Organization for a number of years. Then, in 2013 he started his collegiate coaching career as a coach in the Northwoods Summer League and spent the next 8 years as a coach at San Diego State University. At San Diego, he had many different roles working with hitters, catchers, outfielders as well as spent time as the recruiting coordinator. On June 16th, 2021, he officially resigned from San Diego State University and started up his company; Oliveira Baseball Consulting. In this podcast, we start off talking about what the decision-making process was like for Joe when thinking of stepping away from on-field coaching. We than dive into discussing his company, Oliveira Baseball Consulting, Joe explains the ins and outs as well as how he helps these players and their families find their perfect college fit. We than talk about his time as a collegiate baseball coach, discussing his coaching goals when he first started his career and how those changed throughout his career.
