Description
Shane Davis is an Assistant Coach at Youngstown State University, an NCAA Division I School in Youngstown, Ohio.  He played collegiate baseball at Eastern Michigan University and graduated in 2007. Post-graduation he has spent the last 12 years as a Division I Baseball Coach.  From 2007-2008 he was an Outfield and Catching Coach at Eastern Michigan University and in 2009 was a Catching Coach at the United States Air Force Academy.  Then, from 2010-2011 was a Catching and Bullpen Coach at Cleveland State University and from 2012-2018 was a Hitting and Outfield Coach than transitioned to a Pitching Coach at Western Illinois University.  In 2019, he was hired on at Youngstown University, where he still remains.   In this podcast, we start off talking about Coach Davis’s experience with Figure It Out Baseball, as he has many different teaching videos on our website.  We thank talk about the importance of “mastering something”, in other words, being great at one thing over being good at many.  Also, diving into Coach Davis’s thoughts on throwing breaking balls at a young age.   We than talk about the importance of having command while on the mound and pitching to contact, as well as only worrying about what you can control.  Also, discussing future videos, starting 0-17, suddenly unemployed, and much more!
