The five BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) are meeting in Johannesburg. Established in 2009, the block was created to help advance the interests of nations not traditionally aligned with the west. But agreeing on common policies has been a challenge to say the least, especially in light of Russia's war in Ukraine.
