“This podcast sounded like such a great concept, to hear how someone’s life experience led to the formation of their opinion. Now I only listened to one episode, the one with Sharone Mitchell Jr. on gun control, so that’s all I’m reacting to. So instead of actually exploring his ideas and his expertise, she asked him repeatedly how it felt to “side with the NRA” on gun control. So disrespectful, that wasn’t his position at all. Another opportunity to educate and advance change wasted by this interviewer. This thick headed “repeat the same incorrect assertion as a question” is at best an insulting attempt to play down to the audience and at worst (and im afraid more likely) is a way to appear like you’re interested in pursuing meaningful change while actually bolstering the status quo.”
