Really good pod, but hmmmm….
I subscribed to & enjoyed this podcast & I am sorry to see it go. That said, I must agree with a number of other reviewers who have commented - negatively on all of Lulu’s “hmmms”. They’re unnecessary; I think everyone believes she is still there & paying good, caring attention. (Her comments & follow-up questions certainly indicate that.) The “hmmms” are perhaps a conversational tic(?) that she could either work on or have edited out.

First Person challenges me often, not always comfortable but always good for me. The personal narratives of guests talking about a broader societal issue helps me enter into a topic in ways that are not usual. Thank you!

In this crazy world where I am constantly wondering what people could possibly be thinking, this podcast provides insight into just that. It doesn’t change my mind on issues like abortion or guns in schools, but it does provide a glimpse into how some people think. Very thought-provoking.

One that has made me question, criticize, empathize, cry, laugh and learn a bit more about the human experience in this lifetime. Thank you to Lulu and the New York Times for this deeply impactful work.
