“I am in extreme shock with the good reviews. At first I kind of enjoyed the podcast but when you really listen it is completely disgusting. These women are superficial, judgemental, condescending, and soooo insanely enthralled in their own little Utah bubble it’s unreal.
None of the conversations are actually deep and it’s all very superficial. They do not go into any depth into any one topic and lightly graze things.
They are completely uneducated on topics and “trends” and sayings and give their opinions but are often wrong. Opinions are fine to give but when it’s misleading to the public it’s like really?
I think the Utah woman mentality is extremely toxic and based on this perfectionist and misogynistic idea of life, it’s gross to listen to. When one of the husbands reacted so badly to the idea of period sex I was like grow up 🙄 The girls act like they are open about sex but it’s like very superficial and kind of childish that almost seams immature.
People from different walks of life (as in not LDS or from Utah) could probably not relate to the podcast at all. The cringeyness of what they talk about and how they talk about anything “taboo” to religious folks is uncomfortable to hear.
Also they way Nic talks to Jules is insanely condescending and rude. She constantly talks down to her and is making fun of her. It’s sad and it’s an awkward friendship to witness.
Lastly the vanity is unreal. I’m all about people being confident but listening to people talk about how perfect they are and what they do and how they look is not appealing at all.
All these reviews make me feel like they are people from Utah or something because non LDS people can probably see how gross and toxic this “perfect way of life” really is. Do yourself a favor and listen to something more real and non judgmental that makes you feel actually good about yourself and your self worth.”
