Rich Nelson and Catrin Lowe (Don’t You Want Me? podcast) return to Flixwatcher to review Catrin’s choice Oasis: Supersonic. Oasis: Supersonic (2016) is a documentary charting the almost overnight success of Oasis in the mid 1990s. Directed by Mat (Spike Island) Whitecross it stars the brothers Gallagher, Noel and Liam respectively as they reflect on their ascent to mega stardom and record breaking double gigs at Knebworth in 1996. In classic documentary style we start with the Gallagher’s growing up in Manchester and hear from Peggy Gallagher. We follow their quick rise to fame and the release of Definitely Maybe and hear their tales of rock n roll debauchery. Recommendability scores for Oasis: Supersonic were pretty high, its mix of 1990s nostalgia and the hilarious Gallagher’s make it an easy watch even for a casual Oasis fan. Strong scores across the other categories gives Oasis: Supersonic a solid overall rating of 3.99.
