“I used to love this show, I was a patreon subscriber, but once Shannon quit her job to podcast full time, ironically, this is when the show really started to tank. Lusting over sexts from creepy politicians, really shallow ‘deep dives’ that consist of googling and going on Reddit, and talking about conspiracy theories with no real background knowledge of history or nuance is not interesting or relatable. Shannon has been walking the fine line of dangerous over simplification for a while. I unsubscribed and unfollowed the show before I heard she donated to IDF, but it doesn’t surprise me she’s ignoring everything instead of following ‘advise’ she has for celebs that she is constantly preaching. Good luck- after you quit your day job and got a small following you really lost the plot. Older review I posted right before I left: Shannon gets mad at people when they call her qanon but then will legitimize qanon conspiracies in episodes (most recently, it was pizza gate). Shannon constantly preaches that conspiracy theories don’t hurt anyone but they definitely do (there was a shooting because someone thought pizza gate was real) and have recently. Shannon will constantly say ‘it’s just fun,’ but it’s not. Please have some sort of grounding or base of knowledge before diving into a theory with wild speculation.”
