“I had no idea that what I experienced for years in my marriage was abusive. I thought yelling was normal, I thought name calling was to be endured, I thought my husband should be in charge and in control without question, I thought marriage was forever regardless of how I felt, I thought this world is not my home thus you just live through it, I thought my life was normal. I was heavy into exercise, running, and doing everything for my 4 kids, and working full time….looking back I was keeping busy to avoid interaction with my spouse as much as possible. Until 2020. Life stopped. My oldest daughters continued to tell me I didn’t deserve how I was being treated. They saw it long before I did. But I refused to believe it. 2020 gave me time to research and think. I discovered Leslie Vernick and read about my life in her book. I got myself a counselor that further verified my thoughts and feelings. I moved out of my house in Feb 2021. I Discovered Natalie and this podcast shortly thereafter. Her podcast and the flying free program gave me the strength I needed on a daily basis to keep going. I fear I may have gone back had it not been for the flying free program. I listened to podcast after podcast, I listened to workshops within the program. Emotional abuse IS A REAL PROBLEM IN CHRISTIAN MARRIAGES and I had no idea prior to 2020. This podcast and Natalie’s sisterhood was a lifesaver for me. Highly recommended!!!!!!”
