Cold and discomfort can affect your success in a huge way. More time spent on the mountainside glassing means more likelihood that you will spot the animal that you are after.  There is a definite skill involved with staying in a positive mindset in the wild. Loneliness, stiffness, and other discomforts will all present themselves as obstacles to success we're hunting...at some point along the way.
