License to shoot ?
Brilliant podcast as usual lads. As an Amercian, I can forgive Leon Osman for the plum incident because i’ve always heard it as “plum” as well. It fits the peach and stone fruit category of football speak as well. Perhaps plum of a finish will catch on. Also, you all were my introduction to “for my sins” as a figure of speech too. So… thank you for that. As for my contribution to the discussion, surely a player can have license to shoot. Licenses go beyond spatiality such as license to roam or get forward. You can have a license to shoot or commit as action as well. Generally this is the license that can be attributed to strikers/forwards.

More reviews of Football Cliches
Only just discovered this podcast (for my sins) and listened to over 30 at work since Tuesday, incredible listening all round, dreading the day I’ve caught up and have to wait for 2 a week!

One of the highlights of my week and a cult classic. What on earth has led the Athletic to cancel this?!

This is podcast is pure un-cut football pedantry and I cannot get enough, for my sins.
