Difficulty of pronunciation notwithstanding, if you or a loved one has been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis, you already know how miserable this condition can be. Turns out this malady affects millions of (mostly) women in the US, but hardly anyone talks about it. Worst still is the medical establishments scattershot approach to treatment, which includes some of the most laughably ignorant recommendations in the entire canon of western medicine.
