Inter were crowned Serie A's winter champions on Matchday 19 of this 2023/24 Serie A season as they scraped a dramatic and late 2-1 win at home to Hellas Verona, with Juventus overcoming difficulty as well to come from behind to beat Salernitana by that same scoreline. Two European hopefuls lost as Fiorentina stumbled at Sassuolo and Napoli were hammered away at Torino, while AS Roma and Atalanta drew 1-1 in the capital. AC Milan beat Empoli 3-0 and Lazio won 2-1 at Udinese to take full advantage of the other sides slipping up. Elsewhere, Bologna drew 1-1 with Genoa and Monza beat Frosinone 3-2.
