“There’s something unique about playing a game for eight years that you still wouldn’t recommend to your friends.
That’s why it’s amazing that the hosts of this podcast do what they do - multiple times a week they gather around their microphones, and talk about their recent experiences with the game, what they enjoyed, or disliked, what they’d like to see changed, and discuss how they can better themselves in an incredibly complicated game where at 500+ hours in, you’re still not sure if you like it, and often struggles to attract new players without pissing off the existing ones.
I don’t know why they do it to themselves, but I’m glad they do.
Call it Stockholm Syndrome if you like, but I call it a passion for a game, a community, and a desire to share their incredible game knowledge & insights with their co-hosts and audience alike.
I have thoroughly enjoyed hundreds of hours of Ursi’s hero discussions and builds, Proud’s lists of things not to do, Zac’s statistics and insights, and Beedub’s patch predictions and journey towards being a little bit better at an incredibly difficult to master game.
While I wouldn’t recommend DOTA2 to a friend that was looking for something new to play, if you’re already part of that captured audience, you’d be doing yourself a huge favour by listening to this podcast.
I’ve recommend this podcast to absolutely everyone I know personally that plays DOTA2, and they both love it. 5 stars.”
