Response to “Reasons to Be Cheerful”—try NPR One app
I love Freakonomics and find many things of interest in every episode, and I particularly appreciate that the podcast is an example of “constructive journalism” as defined in he episode “Reasons to Be Cheerful.” I mainly want to respond to Dubner’s stated desire in that episode for the ability to curate the news to be less negative. I’ve been doing that for the past couple of years with the NPR One app. Every morning I choose from the OnDemand menu to create a playlist. Lately I’ve grown tired of so many coronavirus stories, so I pick and choose and order the day’s stories as I like. I love the feeling of control, and consuming the news this way gives my days a better start.
