Description
Not only are these the largest turtle species and one of the largest living reptiles in the world, it is also the last living member of an ancient order that may explain how giant prehistoric marine reptiles survived. They dive to depths greater than any other reptile and unlike almost all reptiles, while not being truly warm blooded, they are able to maintain a stable body temperature.
