Exhaustive or unaccustomed intense exercise can cause exercise-induced muscle damage (EIMD) and its undesirable consequences may decrease the ability to exercise and to adhere to a training program. Dietary and supplemented polyphenols appear to be a promising way of reducing EIMD.
