Smart, Funny, Weird
I’ve been meaning to write a review for a while to support their work. I discovered them on Chatty Broads and was immediately impressed by their academic analysis of reality television and biting humor. I lose it whenever Clues does impressions of the Great One or zooms in on face plays in Clues Corner. As an art historian and film buff, I used to feel embarrassed and guilty about watching reality tv, but they have taught me to view it through the same analytical lens typically reserved for more “serious” cultural products. I used to think I didn’t like sports, but now I realize I like the Bachelor as a sport. Those complaining about their disconnect from the “real emotions” of reality tv players do not fully grasp the thesis of their project. I also happen to like the abrasive sound effects and songs as part of the GOR aesthetic. Highly recommended for art and film nerds who watch The Bachelor.

This is the most honest, most cynical bach podcast and I’m here for it. It’s laugh out loud funny and smart. Who else compares bachelor nation to Scientology, calls it a psychological torture chamber and draws parallels to hunger games. Also +10 points for coining the term “the brown ceiling.”
